ONE SIMPLE TOOL TO USE WHEN BUYING YOUR AW21/22 COLLECTIONS.

2020 and the first half of 2021 have been tricky for retailers when placing orders from suppliers. Some orders for Autum/ Winter 2020 were delayed, and this gave retailers an opportunity to clear stock earlier on this year 2021.

So you are now exciting planning your collection for SS22, or you are placing last orders for AW21/22.

But sometimes the question is: What to buy that guarantees sales?

from my experience, retailers when buying a collection, whether they are in front of the sales rep or they go to fashion trade shows like Pure London, to choose stock, they either trust the sales rep from the brand, or they buy from their trusted brands.


Having information is power, so hold on before you choose the number of items you buy for each product for your shop.

There is a simple tool that will help you do just that in the right amount.


Entiendo perfectamente a las tiendas, cuando están en frente del comercial, o bien van a las ferias a ver proveedores, y o bien, confían siempre en las mismas marcas o bien, confían en lo que el comercial les aconseja.


Tener información, es poder, antes de decidir qué comprar tanto al proveedor como en una feria.


Before you prepare the collection, there is a small tool I give to independent retailers, where past information on size and colour is going to give you control on what stock you are going to buy next.


The tool is a simple excel formula, where you write down what you sold in the past for each size on a specific item. The formula works out the ratio of each size you sold in the past.

And this season, if say you want to buy 100 shirts of a brand, the formula will tell you exactly how many of each size ( and colour if you want to use it for colour too) you have to buy this year.


Con una formula de excel, escribe todas las tallas que ofreciste de un producto determinado.

Después añade el número exacto de unidades que vendiste de cada talla.

La fórmula te va a dar un porcentaje o radio.

Después, imagina que este año quieres comprar 100 unidades de una camisa a la misma marca,

la fórmula te dará exactamente cuántos tienes que comprar de cada talla este año.


Retailers that apply this simple tool, cannot live without it! and they are much prepared and plan for the season as well as knowing the exact amount of stock to buy, that will sell.
