THE STOP OF THE SEASONAL DETOX. A NEW APPROACH TO A PERFECT WARDROBE

While we stay in our homes during the social distancing, we have time to do a wardrobe clear out and throw clothes away, and do the famous “Wardrobe Detox”.

Have you ever wondered though: Why is a wardrobe “toxic” that it needs a seasonal detox?

Having done myself a fair share of my own wardrobe detox over the years, I had my wakeup call when studying fashion. I kind of knew that my clothes ended up either in the charity shop, or in the bin (AKA landfill).

However, nowadays, since resources and processes are limited to carry out the activities of recycling, a new approach has come up: zero waste, or in other words, avoid bringing things home that will become waste in one form or another.

Our wardrobes are no different. In the workshops I give, I hear the same issues from attendees:

· I have accumulated far too much clothes over the years

· I still don’t know what to wear in the morning when I open my wardrobe

· I am confused, what is my style? I keep buying stuff but I still can’t seem to find it

· I am terrified of going shopping, I don’t know what to buy

· I don’t know how to do a wardrobe detox, what do I throw? What do I keep?

· I buy compulsively.

· I would love for my clothes to feel like”me” and bring out my true self

· I only buy basics, as I don’t know any better, is safe.

· I don’t like going shopping or I don’t have the time

· My wardrobe feels messy, with random pieces with different styles

· I have barely got clothes; I don’t know what to buy.

As a trained fashion buyer for the high street, I can tell you something, the high street has very thorough strategies before creating a beautiful collection for a shop, and yet we buy randomly and compulsively?

A buyer has a budget to create a collection, yet we buy clothes we can’t afford?

A buyer knows you very well, to figure out what clothes you like and produce them for you, yet we don’t know our style?

No wonder your wardrobe is “toxic” every season.

I realised this situation is unfair, so I have adapted the strategies that a high street buyer would apply to create a beautiful clothing collection for the shops, but instead, to create a wardrobe collection personalised to a client, so we all play with the same rules and strategies.

Some of my clients start the process following one of my workshops by themselves, and for others, I have created a full Wardrobe from scratch. How? you may ask. I start by creating a comprehensive “map” that will guide you on when you buy clothes with the aim to have a timeless wardrobe. This includes an inspiration board with your style, a colour palette, advice on fabrics and the best shops for you and a piece by piece edited wardrobe. All this process will show you exactly what to buy with a display of different outfit combinations.

A clear wardrobe is a clear head in the morning, a wardrobe that feels like you, a wardrobe you love every piece in it. A wardrobe that is not toxic and so that will not need a “seasonal detox” ever again avoiding thus, waste.

Let me cure your wardrobe, while you have a breakthrough, and It will never get toxic again.

¿Qué me quedo?

  • Do I need to be actively involved in the process once I purchase the Style Breakthrough service?
Yes. This service is designed for individuals who are truly ready to commit to discovering their authentic style and breaking free from impulsive, unfulfilling purchases. We work with clients who are at a stage in their lives where they want a more intentional and sustainable approach to their wardrobe. By trusting the process and fully engaging in it, you’ll achieve lasting results—a style that feels effortless, cohesive, and truly you.
  • Will I have to get rid of all my clothes?
Not at all! The goal is to work with what you already have and refine your wardrobe, not to start from scratch. We’ll assess what truly aligns with your style, what can be repurposed, and what might not be serving you anymore. The process is about intention—curating a wardrobe that supports your style, not just replacing everything for the sake of it.
  • Will the Style Breakthrough service change me into someone I’m not?
Absolutely not! This service isn’t about forcing you into a specific style or making you dress in a way that doesn’t feel like you. Instead, it’s about uncovering and refining the style that already aligns with who you are at this stage of your life. Think of it as a process of self-discovery—one that empowers you to feel more confident, authentic, and in control of your wardrobe. You won’t be told what to wear; rather, you’ll gain clarity on what truly resonates with you, so getting dressed feels effortless and right for you. This is about embracing your style, not changing it into something it’s not.
  • Do I need to be passionate about fashion to benefit from the Style Breakthrough service?
Not at all! The Style Breakthrough is for anyone who wants to feel confident and authentic in what they wear—whether or not they follow fashion trends. However, this service is about more than just clothes; it’s about shifting your mindset around style and shopping. To truly benefit, you need to be open to change. If you’re ready to break free from old shopping habits, stop wasting money on pieces that don’t work, and build a wardrobe that reflects who you are, this process will give you clarity and confidence. But this may not be the right fit if you’re looking for a quick fix without a commitment to real change. Style isn’t about following rules—it’s about redefining your relationship with your wardrobe and embracing a new way of dressing that truly serves you.
  • Is the Style Breakthrough service only for people who feel lost in their style?
